I picked
this up on Netgalley it sounded interesting, inquiring with mystery a story
right up my alley. Just remember what you read isn’t always as it seems what
you find will at times shock you and other times make you mad. But there will
not be a time when you do not feel sorry for each and every woman who has ever
been with this truly loving, carrying man.
You open
and start reading the first page your mind goes one way and the story takes a
twist you won’t see coming. The authors
spin a wonderful tale of suspense, some chills, and a lot of question that
might take a little while to answer. The story comes across as stalking,
revenge but there is so much more. Be prepared for some shockers as the authors
twist and spin this to keep your attention, holding it and leave you wondering
what the heck is going on. Nothing is as it seem…lives have been changed
forever leaving the reader spellbound so invested you won’t be able to put it
down.
I have to
admit I loved this story but at time found it confusing. The authors go from
one woman to another and I got them mixed up a few times. Beside that it is a
story that holds you on the edge keeping you guessing and holding your breath.
There will be a time when you will want to reach right in the book and pull out
the ex holding her and telling her she needs to move on. I doubt you will be
prepared for what is yet to come and the outcome of it all. You need to go into
this book with an open mind and keep it open but I doubt you will be able to.
You are pulled one way and then it spins another. You will assume lots of
things but as the authors tell you up front Assume nothing and they are right.
I followed
Vanessa holding my breath wishing she would let the past go, but she moves
forward taking each day as it is her last, loving a man that doesn’t love her
anymore. Needing a man she loves so much but knowing she will never have him
again. But does she really want him or is there something more, you can bet
this is much deeper than you ever expected.
Then I
followed Emma holding my breath telling her to watch out for the crazy lady who
wants to take everything away from her. I embrace Richard thinking what a
caring loving man who did his best to help his ex through her craziness. Both
of these people just wanting to find a love that will last a lifetime only
wanting to be happy, have someone to hold, love, be there still holding hands
when they are old and gray. Having children, seeing grandchildren and watching
their love grow, at this point you really don’t know who to feel the sorriest
for but your heart will go out to Richard, Emma and your heart will break for
Vanessa.
Then the
shocking thing start happening putting me in a tailspin, shocked an alone
trying to work out what just happen and what will happen. This is a game there
will be no winners. There will be no one smiling, laughing or excited when the
end comes leaving you in shock, heartbroken and so glad so many worked it out
and will move on hopefully to find their happy ever after before they die a
lonely life. But for some that time will never come for some the game is still
being played.
The ones
you feel sorry for from the start will change by the end, you will have changed
your mind over and over again as the story plays out. I had thought almost at
the end there could be no more surprises but I was wrong the author pulls
another rabbit from their hat leaving me even more shocked than I was
before.
Well
written, the way it is laid out is brilliant keeping the reader hooked and
guessing, with some very good plotting, characters and scene that will stay
with you for a long time to come. When you meet Richard you think OMG where can
I get one like him, he treats his women like princess giving her all the love
and attention, making her feel safe. Vanessa has been down the road before and
she misses it. The ball is set rolling and she has missed out, this is when she
knew what she must do, she is obsessed with
the women who took her place the women who has it all and there is no
way she can let her get it or deal with the fallout. This is a story I will
read again, I am betting the audio will be outstanding and even better than the
book. You really need to pick this up it will be one story that will leave you
breathless, spellbound, and shocked over and over again. I totally LOVED IT.
