E.E. Burke is always a delight to read but in Maybe Baby
she steps away from her historical writing as she gives you a new taste to her
wonderful writing style. Maybe Baby is about learning, growing and overcoming
fear as you let someone in closer than you ever have. One needs money one wants
a baby can they work out a deal or will issues get in their way? What a great addition
to the Magnolias and Moonshine series.
When Logan and Jen meet there is a misunderstanding which
turns out to be so funny. One thing leads to another with Jen over a short time
asking him to be the donor for her baby. What follows is an outstanding read
that pulls you in tickling your funny bone keeping you laughing almost throughout.
Maybe Baby is a short fun read that you are going to love. I was chuckling throughout
the story. I loved the twists and turns that had me laughing out loud. The
author turns on the serious issues that will make you feel the sorrow as these
two learn about their selves. You think things are going one way and they
change. I adored the smart mouth humor as they turn the tables on each other. When
the chips are down and Jen needs a shoulder Logan is always there with his
sweet sex cowboy ways. Jen has a lot to learn about relationships and Logan is
just the man to teach her.
The supporting characters are wonderful, Logan’s brother is
a trip that will keep you laughing. I really enjoyed how these two get along,
pick and tease but really hold their ground showing what family means. I really
want to know his story and see him eat a few words. I hope he gets his own
story.
I enjoyed how this story builds and the issues it covers. It
was a delightful change. We know Ms. Burke’s for her mail order brides which
are outstanding reads. In Maybe Baby she has out done herself showing us she
has no trouble pulling off a contemporary romance. I for one hope it isn’t the
last one she writes. If you are in need of a laugh, love humor pick up Maybe
Baby and get a well written story that pulls you in keeping you laughing with a
wonderful ending.
