Wolver's Reward (The Wolvers, #7)

Wolver's Reward (The Wolvers, #7)
by Jacqueline Rhoades

 MyReview
All the books in this series I have listened to in audio this was a little different for me. At first I kept hearing the narrator voice in my head as the characters came to life. If you haven’t listen to this series on audio you are in for a treat. I did enjoy the read but still am looking forward to listening to this one audio. I adore this author and her writing style this book was no different. A lost soul (wolver) who has for many years try to find his place he was mistreated for years until he came face to face with the Goodman pack who took him in. He has always been a protector taking care of first the cubs and than his new pack. The day came they kicked him out which broke his heart. He went a little nuts just driving down one road after another still a lost soul. Until he came along a broken down car where his world change forever. He finds his self hunting down the lady who was just cute that stole his truck and her friends knocked him out. This is where things get wild and crazy along with very interesting and funny read.

There is no way you can read this book and not have River touch you. His story will break your heart. He has trouble belonging never truly fitting in. A wise mate out wits him and he finds he is on the road protecting a pack he doesn’t belong to. It doesn’t take him long to fall for Reb only he can’t have her and must fight off all the wolvers who wants to mate her. As he trains this pack to take care of their selves he falls more for Reb knowing he can’t have her and must leave soon. I just loved this character as he fights the pull of the women of his dreams he shows just how much this pack means to him. He doesn’t feel he is good enough when in fact he is wonderful, caring and loving with just a few rough places around the edge which are adoring.

Reb name suits her well she is a pusher a fighter but always an alpha’s daughter.  She has much to learn and learn she does when she sets up a game of chase to find her mate which goes terribly wrong. She feels bad when they knock out and take River’s truck she had no choice she must make it to the games. When River comes to her rescue she is left with mix feelings and a powerful attraction. The pull is great and one she cannot fight as she gives in she knows it will only be for a short time after all she will be an alpha mate. Reb is a rebel in so many ways but still young and protected by her family. She is sweet, loving and kind along with giving and understanding. She gives River space when needed and push when that is needed. She will make a wonderful mate but she isn’t so sure she wants to be an alpha mate.

The author brings a wonderful sweet funny story of lost, found, lost, broken and finding where one needs to be. One doesn’t always need to be in control but ready to take on anyone who is out to hurt the pack. Pack always comes first! I have truly enjoyed getting to know all the characters in this series as well as revisiting them in each book. There is no way you won’t adore Eugene Begley as he takes control finding each wolver the prefect mate. He is wise as he sets the stage letting them find their way. He doesn’t make it easy for them if he did they wouldn’t believe him so he lets them go down the hard road finding where they need to be.

Ms. Rhoades gives you a story you can sink your teeth into as she takes you through the life and day to day running of a pack and their members. She gives you an exciting read of kill or be killed as wolvers try to take over the pack and win the alpha daughter in hopes of being the alpha. You can feel the pain and sorrow coming right out of the pages as well as their hopes and dreams. The fight will have you on the edge of your seat as wolver go against wolver. This is one pack that never had to work for anything now they must learn to survive. At time the story broke my heart and other times I had to laugh at all these wonderful characters and the messes they get into. So many wonderful supporting characters that will grab your heart in their funny or serious ways giving you many laughs and a few tears. River has always been one of my favorite characters from the first book he was in. His story is touching and painful I was so glad he found his HAE and became a true member of a pack he loves. For me this was a touching wonderful read full of hope, love and dreams.

Overview
Fate has played River for a fool. Again. He thought he'd earned the respect of a decent and admirable wolver pack. He was grateful for it. He was content...until they took it all away, and left him alone and angry. Again.

Yet Fate rewards him with another pack, one that needs his survival skills, and one where he meets the girl of his dreams, but River is no longer a fool. The beautiful Rebecca is an Alpha's daughter. She can never be his and she knows it, too. But knowing the outcome, changes the game, and both River and Reb decide to play this one on their own, but different, terms.
What Fate knows, and River must learn, is that happiness comes when you least expect it, and finding a love worth fighting for is what brings a Wolver's Reward
