Mail Order Bride: Christy

Mail Order Bride: Christy
by Vivi Holt

 My Review
This is a very cute short read that I feel is most likely true to this time frame. It would be hard to lose it all and have to marry someone you never met. This is the first book by this author I thought it was well written. The ending is rush I do not feel they would fell in love that fast. They are attracted to each other but misunderstanding get in the way which may mean she is leaving before they even begun. The author gives you characters you can relate to and a very believable plot.

Christy is just a sweet heart, so kind and giving. She is afraid life has changed living her no one and no place to go. I feel as a 19 year old in this time in history she should have been more able to stand on her own but I feel her mother kept her young and was very controlling. She did very well for the life she lived.

Brent is lonely and wants a help mate so he looks for a bride. He is excited to have found one so beautiful. They get off on the wrong foot and things get worse before they get better. His feeling grow stronger but he doesn’t know how to tell her. When he looks at her he gets all tongue tied. When something happens he comes to find his feelings are stronger than he thought.

This was a sweet clean read with a touching story. For a first published book the author did very well. I look forward to reading more and watching her grow as an author.
