Memory of You (A Misty Cove Love Story)

Memory of You (A Misty Cove Love Story)
by Dori Lavelle

My Review
Ms. Lavelle pulled me in from the first page and held my attention throughout this read. She has a writing style that pulls you in and takes you away to an outstanding read. They say one can never go home as Jade found out it is hard when the past come to haunt you not only by everyone in this little town but her ex knocking on her door asking for answers. This is about a past love, misunderstanding, lost love, pain and starting over. Sometimes you can't go back things change, issues change, there is no way to take back things you say or do. If only you had a redo button that could give you a chance to rethink your moves. Life doesn't give us that you have to deal with the issues at hand and hope for the best as Jade finds out.

Jade walked away from the man she loved years ago if that wasn't bad enough she left him at the altar not saying a word just turns and spins as she walks away. Now years later after a bad marriage she is back trying to out run her past and what everyone thinks of her. I would have to say if I was in her place I am not sure if I would have spoke up or done the same as she did. I think at different ages in my life I would have done both. I really felt her pain and felt sorry for you. Not only when I found out the reason why she left but when I found out his answer. I really liked Jade as a character she is really a wonderfully sweet lady who didn't trust in their love and didn't face him until it was to late.

Bryce I found really hard not to like him he was just to sweet. When I found out the reason I thought OH MY really...But I still liked him. I wouldn't call him alpha just a wonderfully sweet man. When I found out what really happened my heart broke for him if I didn't already love this man I would have fallen for him all over again. He has made plans that cannot be unchanged. He has made promises he will keep and it will not only break his heart but yours as well.

The author gives you a wonderful story you can get lost in with a wonderful plot. This is a very believable story and I am sure has happen somewhere in time. She gives you characters you can relate to and you will come to love. I do think Jade should have had the children talk before not after. For me that was a little off but beside that I really loved this story. Dori has always been able to pull me in and take me away getting lost in her writing style. I do like that this is a standalone and not a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading the rest in this series. It will be interesting to see where the author takes this. If it will be about these two and how their life is going or if she will pick some of the other characters in this story.
